I recently installed windows me but i have problems installing nero ,winzip.

nero setup says "the application cannot start as it cannot create needed
files. There may not be enough free space"

winzip "unable to create temporary folder extract to.
Possible cause:you do not have permissions to create files in your temp folder. see your netwk admin"

so i decided to clean install xp on my d: drive and chose to convert it to ntfs but on checking hard drives it says c: drive is corrupted and cannot be repaired. setup cannot continue.

    Please help me

In this situation it would be better to do a clean install.

    S_dda,

From your post, it sounds like you already made the decision for a clean install.

If there is any data on the drive you need, back it up.

Otherwise during the installation process you can elect to format and convert the existing partition. Choose both.
