Help...new user

Hi everyone,
Im having serious problems here.
Not sure what/ where the problems are coming from but comp running REALLY slow.
Have had virgin in to check cable into house, resolved one problem but still having trouble.
Running all antivirus, trojan and spyware I can, still nothing significant found. (running Windows 7 ultimate and ie 8)
just installed and run Hijackthis and come up with the following

You don't have more than 1 anti-virus and firewall installed, right? You could check the task manager and see which processes are consuming the most resources.

Like onca I can't advise on your HJT log (forum rule) plus I can't read them either! ... but have you had a look at what's running at startup using Windows built in msconfig?

Don't make any changes you're not sure about, ask here first.

thanks for quick response,
I had microsoft security essentials and defender but changed over to norton...could these be conflicting?
just done a msconfig and stopped some start up programs that are unnecessary. will see how that goes. any other comments gladly welcome,

From what I've read in threads in TSG, Norton is often ditched in favour of Microsoft Security Essentials using the built in Norton removal option. That's what I've done on my kids laptop.
