am running xp prowith athlon 2800+with 120 gig hd it started slowing down
just a little at first and then shutting of and rebooting itself to show an error
message saying windows has recovered fron a critical error then would be alright for a while . now it is that slow it wont even open a prog i put a smaller HD in 40 gig and it worked alright just a little slower than normal
did a clean install on the 120 gig HD AND IT WAS NO DIFFERENT AT ALL
TOOK AGES TO BOOT UP AND SHUT DOWN I thought it could be the drive
but when i tried yet another HD a 60 gig this time it was no different so then i tried slaving the 60 gig off the 40 gig which id had in a previous set up
i got a blue screen + white writing saying windows has closed down to
safegaurd your computer so it seems anything over 40 gig is to much
