Recently my computer has been running very slow. It could take a full minute or more once I have double clicked on an icon on my desktop. Once I'm in a program it's not too bad most times, however on I've been getting some Exceptions and Fatal Exceptions when I start up also. I was running at 67% or so, then I ran Spy Doctor and it when down to 49%! I ran Adaware and spybot as well. It doesn't seem to have any major virus or anything...just running slow. Please look at HJT and see if there's anything there I shouldn't have. Thanks!

This is really gettig worse. My computer just restarted on its own while I was running Adaware. It came up with a black screen with a grid all over it. It's getting very difficult to do anything because it takes so long to get into a program.

Can't anyone help???

I am stumped as well. I have a 98 that has 512mb, and is also running really slow like that (not as bad of course), but I am afraid it is traveling on that same road. Only had 49 tracking cookies come up. I wish you luck on finding some help and hopefully some will know so I can find a solution too. As bad as your computer sounds it might just be better to format and start over. If you decide to format I hope you can get in the computer to back up your files.
Wishing you good luck,
Beverly
