Hello guys! I've just updated my laptop with the windows update and its crashed and saying "Error: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might have caused the issue after you install Windows Updates". I've tried doing both options it asks me to do and it still crashes! Help PLEASE!:D

Was this machine powered OFF before the updates were complete?

Also make and model may help?

Google on how to restore the most recent registry/"settings that worked"

Which release of Windows is it?

Off topic but for heaven's sake - pick an *appropriate* subject title next time...

Being that it is a laptop, was in running on the battery or on external power?

Did it really shut down, or did it go to sleep/hibernation?

You could try to do a Repair.

Start the computer and start tapping F8. Select Repair Your Computer Press Enter. Click Next. Click Startup Repair and Continue with the repair.

Did that fix the issue?

If that did not work, try a system restore:

Start the computer again. Start tapping F8 The Advanced Options Menu should show up. Select Repair Your Computer hit Enter Click Next. Click System Restore. The Computer will restart after the restore process.
