Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {965A592F-8EFA-4250-8630-7960230792F1} - (no file)
    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Aaou] C:\Documents and Settings\Scott McAreavey\Application Data\amee.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Bhbyetk] C:\WINDOWS\System32\m?iexec.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

    Restart in safe mode

Open Windows Explorer. Go to Tools, Folder Options and click on the View tab. Make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK".

    Delete these files:
    C:\WINDOWS\aqadcup.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\Scott McAreavey\Application Data\amee.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\m?iexec.exe -->don't miss the ? mark in that!

    Now empty these folders:
    C:\Documents and Settings\all profiles\local settings\temp
NOTE: all profiles means all of the profiles on the machine
    c:\temp
    c:\windows\temp

    Empty your recycle bin.

    Reboot and post another log.

Thank you cybertech for taking the time to help me with my problems. I followed your instructions with the following caveats:
    1. In Windows\system32.....I couldn't find the m?iexec.exe file...I did find one with an "s" in place of the "?"...but I didn't not delete that.
    2. When emptying \documentsandsettings\scottmcareavey\localsettings\temp.....I attempted to delete a file named temporary internet files that was located inside temp. It would not allow me to do so, stating "Cannot delete comput~1.htm". Inside this temporary internet files file, there is another file named content.IE5
    3. When emptying c:\temp, I deleted everything except a file named "thumbs" which warned me that it was a system file and asked me if I was sure I wanted to delete it. I chose to be cautious and said no..

That said, I think I accomplished everything else. Here is my new hijack this log. How am I looking? Thanks again!

I'm not at all suprised by that!

content.IE5 will have folders under that, delete those folders.

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [slmss] C:\Program Files\Common Files\slmss\slmss.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mwsvm] C:\WINDOWS\mwsvm.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

    Reboot and delete this folder
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\slmss

    and this file
    C:\WINDOWS\mwsvm.exe

    Cybertech,
Thanks again, however it will not allow me to delete the folders inside IE 5. I get errors saying "Cannot delete comput~1.htm" or "Cannot delete homead~1.htm"

Why am I getting these. I have not done the other steps you recommended yet.

Log on to a profile other than your own that has admin rights and try to empty the folder.
