i was just checking my hotmail and deleting all the junk mails without opening them and then i close my browser and see that my wallpaper has changed to a strange black screen saying that i've got spyware and this is how to get ride of it. it's a html page that is stored under c:\windows\webs...however, i've deleted it but its still there!! and no there are no hidden files...i've tried everything...spybot, adaware...it got rid of some things, but not the bl00dy black screen!
i resorted to Hijack This and hope someone is able to help me with getting rid of somethings on the pc...

Please download and run the following program(s):

    AD-AWARE

    Go here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/
    and download Ad-Aware SE Personal

Install the program and launch it.

First, in the bottom right-hand corner of the main window click on Check for updates now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

Then, in the main window: Click Start and under Select a scan Mode tick Perform full system scan.

Then, deselect Search for negligible risk entries.

To start the scan, click the Next button.

When the scan is finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and then click Next)

    Restart your computer.

    SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY

    http://majorgeeks.com/download2471.html

Open Spybot Search & Destroy (Click Start, Programs, Spybot S&D (Advanced Mode). Click online, Search for updates, Download all available updates. Close all Browser windows, Click ''Check for Problems''. Anything that needs to be fixed it will show in red and have a green check in the box to the left. Click ''Fix Selected Problems'', Then restart your computer.

Then get the newest version of Hijack This and post a new log and we'll see what's left to get rid of. You can get it here:

    Restart to safe mode.

How to start your computer in safe mode

Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default, Go to Start > Search and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"

Next click on My Computer. Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

Now find and delete these files:

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\spoolsrv32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\lyaxhioq.exe

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

    Empty the Recycle Bin

Boot back to Windows normally now.

Go to Control Panel > Display. Click on the "Desktop" tab then click the "Customize Desktop" button. Click on the "Web" tab. Under "Web Pages" you should see an entry checked called something like "Security" or similar. Select that entry and click the "Delete" button. Click OK then Apply and OK.

I got almost finished with your log when I realized that you have am old version of Hijack This. Grid of the old one and Click here to download the new one, come back here and post the log from it.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close ALL windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gpemojbm] C:\WINDOWS\System32\lyaxhioq.exe

Restart to safe mode and delete this file:

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\lyaxhioq.exe
