    Hi,

When I tried to play a CD just now I got this message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program or it may not be functioning properly".

It is version 9 and has been running ok till now.

Can someone please tell me what to do now??

    Many thanks,
    Kate

What version of Windows are you running? Also do you have any other sounds, or can you play other types of media?

I am running ME, IE version 6 and WMP 9 (I think), however thank you for your reply but I have restarted and it seems to be working fine now - bizarre. I will post again if the problem recurs.

    Thanks again,
    Kate
