Hello all,

i am a medium siz network in my house and i am now suffering major problems!!!! ne way hers the layout:

i have a Dsl (acts as a dhcp) router connected to a 8 port switch, which has one wireless ap and 3 machines into it,

one 2 of the machines i have xp pro with service pack 1, on the 3rd is also xp pro but no service pack....

heres my problem

the two with sp1 on can access all shared folders on the others (desktop and 3 laptops via wireless!) but they are inaccessable between each other and by the others (i get a message saying access dednide contact....bla bla!) lol

but i really need theese to to be able to access each other.

PLEASE HELP!!

cheers in advance

Try typing your question in word (werd) first then running a spelling / grammar check first (F7) so we can understand what you are saying first....
At a rough guess, you need to share the folders etc. to be able to access them. Additionally, use the same username & password on both PC's

hi ya

sorry about my spelling but it was very late when i posted!!!

yeah i have shared folders on both computers and i have the same user names on both but no passwords (i remotely access one of them via VNC and can have a password on the account!)

but i do have passwords (the same) on the main administrator login (in safe mode) do u think that could affect it???

every thing i try i get the same msg saying:

\\server is not accessible. you might not have permission to use this network resource contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Access denided

any ideas, any thing would be great!!

thanks in advanced

Have you tried accessing the default admin share \\computername\c$ ?
if you get a 'can't be found' error rather than an 'access denied' error, try using the IP address with the admin share, eg. \\192.168.0.1\c$
Check the simple file sharing service, this can cause problems with network shares
