Listen guys I have another problem. I keep getting error messages during intallation of anythinG: for example while installing a game (original CD in very good shape) there is an error saying: "Unable to install file whatever.cab:))), installation has to be terminated". What's more I have the same problem while installing Windows!!! Probably a hardware breakdown?? I've tried 4 different CD(or DVD) drives, but to no avail :( ?? What else could have broken down  ??

A bad memmory chip can cause this for XP or if you have bad sectors on the hard drive.

but i've been using the computer for quite some time now(2years) and the problem appeared recently after a serious system crash, after which Windows XP had to be re-installed.
I forgot to mention that i sometimes have the blue-screen errors:) during installation
