Help problems windows 98 have great v day

    help i hooked up a net card and a router to a used gateway penn 3. but i keep getting a "The APPS.INF file is incomplete. Copy the APPS.INF file from your windows setup disk into your windows INF folder". there have been several files at the top of this message one was ecdelete.bat and another was Symlnch.bat . Also the hard drive keep running of and on even when i am not doing anything on the computer it will crank on and off even while i am not hooked to router. I have dsl.     Hiya

    For the ecdelete and Symlnch files, are these located in your Temp folder? If so, you can empty this manually.

    Go to Start | Run, and type

    %Temp%

    And delete all the contents. Then, take a look at this on how to use the SFC:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/185836/EN-US/

    To extract a new copy of Apps.inf from your Windows 98 cd.
