I am going mad with this box. There is a box that controls tubes and things. It is connected to an old computer running windows98SE using an archaic 60pin internal ribbon scisi cable to a very old IBM io timer card - they are aorund 20 years old. It was originally in a very old computer running dos. The only way I know how to write/read to the box is via a few programs and the read bit does not work as the card is not compatiable with windows 98(it goes mad). There is no source code, the box was purpose built. And the computer is on it´s last legs.

The only way I can think of making it future proof is to reqire the scsi cable and put it into a new io card - but I don´t know how. Also, I don´t know wat commands to send the box or how to read it. It is very simple, a few commands. Open valve, close valve, read signal when a light appears on the box....

Any ideas would be very much gratefully received!
