help secondary log on on all programmes

    HI
    Im having problems with my pc timings great has hubby is away on op tour (army) and its the only real way we talk :mad:
    I had sp2 installed or rather my pc did it for me.
    It killed it i managed to get it uninstalled now every time i want top open a programme i get a pop up box run as.
    I have to uncheck the option "protect my computer and data from unauthorised programme activity." for the programme to open.
    I have run scan disk, adaware, spybot 3 different virus scan all came up with nothing.

    I can understand you not wanting it back . When SP2 was installed it , by default opened a firewall that would have conflicted with Zone Alarm . There are also other programs in the list .
    I do not know if removing SP2 reverts your computer back to its original settings . You might check to see if the XP firewall is also on .

    Nope the xp fire wall isnt on
    i also dont have any restore points on my computer other than after i took sp2 off the problem happened as soon as it was gone

    I dont have the skills to analyze your log Mandy but someone will show up soon . Best of Luck . I just notice you have AVG and Norton anti virus programs on your system . Only use one of these . Update regularly of course . Shut the other one down otherwise they can create problems for you .

    i run them both often and have had no problems with either i manually update them every couple of days and they update themselves to.
    But i will shut one down if you think thats best
