    Hi,

Dad's laptop, his prized possession, is now the family PC!

Trouble is, I want to make sure my kids are safe on the web and email etc so they can't infect the laptop with viruses etc.

I have windows XP home edition, spybot, spywareguard, spyware blaster, adaware, AVG anti virus etc - so all in all with my user I am reasonably well protected.

Now, of course, my kids are coming along...

I have set myself up as administrator and each child with their own "limited" status account on XP.

That said, I can't see how on earth I can tailor or restrict their access further.

Basically, they are responsible kids in teens but that doesn't mean i want them to have a free run of the web etc.

I know microsoft offers tools - but they cost money that I can ill afford (believe me!) so I am wanting to know where I can find an "idiot guide, step by step" on how to set up XP and explorer and email etc for a family pc including children.

Hope this makes sense to some other dads out there.

Many thanks for reading and thanks too for anyone taking the time to reply to this post.

    Cheers!

    Mike
