    Hi Guys,

Let me first start by saying thank you for providing this service. I am not one to just ask for help w/o trying to fix it myself first. However, after 3 days of scanning this forum and trying to fix this problem by myself I am at a loss and need some professional advice.

I started getting pop ups and my browser was very slow last week. I did some research and disabled my system restore feature and tried running Ad-Aware, Trojan Blocker, Kaspersky, and other programs. They found numerous trojans and misc. *.dll files. Unfortunately, all of these programs were unable to delete a couple of these files. I got a message that said it would delete them after startup. Unfortunately, I still have this virus.

I need some assistance from the experts. Below is a copy of my HijackThis log. Can someone please review and give me some advice? Thanks much!

    Jenny:(

First of all you have Norton/Sophos and Kaspersky

Remove 2 of them, you do not want multiple AV's

Download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ (W2K/XP Only)
    · Install ewido.
    · Run the application
    · Clickon scanner
    · then select the "Settings" tab.
    · Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Delete".
    · Under "Reports"
    · Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
    · Un-Select "Only if threats were found"
    · Click Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
    · When the scan is finished, Set all items to delete
    · Apply all actions
    · look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
    · Save the report to your C: Drive
This will take some time to run!
    RE-Boot
Post that log and a new HiJack log

    MFDnSC,

Thanks for your response. I've downloaded Ewido and completed the scan per your instruction. It found some more items and was able to delete all of them. Below please find the new log from Ewido and Hijackthis. BTW, I didn't have a chance to remove Norton and Sophos b/c I was running in safe mode. I will do this now.

    4. Select the Advanced... button at the bottom of the screen.
    5. Select override automatic cookie handling button.
    6. To block third party cookies select block under "Third-party cookies".
    7. Select "always allow session cookies".
    8. Click on the OK button at the bottom of the screen.
    ==========================
You may want to print this or save it to notepad as we will go to safe mode.

Fix these with HJT – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

    F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Userinit.exe,lqiarbp.exe

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [winlog] winlog.exe

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: Hints - C:\WINDOWS\

    DownLoad http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip

Restart your computer into safe mode now. (Tapping F8 at the first black screen) Perform the following steps in safe mode:

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it. Now put a tick by Standard File Kill. In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file. It will ask for confimation to delete the file. Click Yes. Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\lqiarbp.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\winlog.exe

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist. If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.

    START – RUN – type in %temp% - OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete

Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp

Not all temp files will delete and that is normal
    Empty the recycle bin
Boot and post a new log from normal NOT safe mode

Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system
