I have just downloaded abiword and tried their help section ( abiword tutorial / the abiword window) and find that all the pictures have a red X. Also all the pictures in abiword How To are the same. I then went to abiword web site to look for help and found that the red X is also in the same places as mine.

any help would be appreciated.

thank you

Are you using Vista? Has Abiword been kept up to date? If yes/no then the help file format abiword is using is probably incompatible.

If you're looking for really good free word processors there's Open Office and Symphony.

Ok, I installed Abiword so I could see what's going on. The help files are all at the Abiword servers and I got the red X windows as well. As long as your browser works on other sites, its not your doing or that you're missing something. Its the Abiword web pages that only have the placeholder for the graphic but they're missing the actual graphic.

Maybe a different browser would render the site correctly if they are actually there but I don't think they are. They probably intend to put graphics in those placeholders when they get to it.

Those are the ones, I was using an IE derivative, so if you use Firefox Jean, you should be able to see the pics.
