Hi, I'm posting for my mother since this virus thing is nearly killing her computer and I have yet to remove it since I can't.

My mom has a computer which is over 5 years old. It runs on Windows XP and has for the most part been amazingly fast. WE've never had a problem with it, until now. It seems that "antivirus Suite" has downloaded and installed on her computer while she was out. Now every two seconds we get a pop up saying the computer is infected, all files etc. We can't get into Windows Defender to scan, nor can we get into Internet Explorer while in Safe Mode with Networking. I'm t a loss of how to remove it correctly since I can't change the proxy setting that the virus seems to put on the computer. Nor can I find out what is in is all in the computer (ram etc) since it tells me the file in infected.

Like I say this is an old computer but it ran fine up until 10pm tonight. That's wen it installed itself since all today (well the 2nd) it was working fine and everything. So I have no idea what to do. I can tell I'm having the same problem as others but mine is different since it seems they can run scans while I can't. Not even in Safe Mode.

    Help?
