Is this really Vista? Those screen shots look like XP.

Yes, it's vista. I believe that XP's performance tab at the bottom is quite different.

Click on Show Processes from all users at the bottom of the processes tab.
Then click on CPU till the percentages are all showing at the top.

Then take another screen shot and post that.

    Thanks.

But, realize, Vista is quite different in how it handles memory and a lot of things, So don't treat Vista like XP. They are not the same underneath.

Since this is really Vista, I'm not sure what issue you have, it does suck up lots of memory. Here's my Vista machines memory usage, that's with no applications other than the boot startup stuff.

    One other thing to add....

Vista loves memory, it wants as much as it can get to a point.

It looks like you only have 1 gig of memory and part of that is being used by your video, from what I see in the screen shot, making assumptions here.

One thing that will boost performance of vista is adding another Gig of ram.
Vista really should (edit: NOT) have less than 2G's , and in extreme cases 1G , but you will notice a performance hit.

    whoopps, thank you Shadow.

Don't ya mean Vista really should not have less than 2G's, Orumph? ;)
