    Then continue using Firefox.

However, if you must use IE (which is very noticably slower than Firefox, at least on dialup), then install the Google Toolbar.

Ya' know, a HiJack log isn't needed for every problem.

    Hi dbitonti, welcome to TSG.

You do have some bad guys there on your log.

Okay, let's make sure you know how to boot into safe mode and to configure your PC to view hidden files. Instructions here:

    Safe Mode:

    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm

    Hidden files:

    http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

Check in your Add/Remove and if you have WinTools listed, then uninstall it.

    Go here and download AdAware:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=506

After installation follow the prompts to download current updates and allow it to do a full system scan.

Everything AdAware finds is safe to delete.

    Then download Spybot:

    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2471

After installation, use the "Check for Updates" function and download current updates, then "Check for Problems" to scan your system.

Everything Spybot finds in RED is safe to delete.

Now, open HJT and check the following entries (if still present), click Fix and then REBOOT to safe mode.

After rebooting to safe mode, find and delete these files:

    C:\Program Files\Windows TaskAd\WinTaskAd.exe
    C:\Program Files\AutoUpdate\AutoUpdate.exe"
    mpfpl1.exe
    tsm2.exe

Reboot to normal mode and post a current log, okay?

    :)

And after everything is clear, you might want to take the actions I suggested in message 2 as a preventative measure.
