    Download http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe and save it to your Desktop.

    Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
    (Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

    Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
    · Restart your computer
    · After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
    · Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
    · Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
    · Choose your usual account.
    · Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
    · Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
    · It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
    · Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
    · When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
    · Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
    (Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
    · Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log
    =================
    Download Superantispyware (SAS)

    http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html

    Install it and double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
    · It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
    · Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
    · Click the Scanning Control tab.
    · Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
    o Close browsers before scanning
    o Scan for tracking cookies
    o Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
    o Please leave the others unchecked.
    o Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
    · On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
    · On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
    · On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
    · Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
    · After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
    · Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
    · It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
    · To retrieve the removal information for me please do the following:
    o After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
    o Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
    o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
    o It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
    o Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
    · Click close and close again to exit the program.
    · Please paste that information here for me with a new HijackThis log.

    O.k. here are the three logs.

    The computer seems to be running a lot better but there is now a big capital letter "M" before the url in the url bar. What's up with that?

    Thanks for the help so far, Jerry

    Please click here http://www.majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html to download the latest version of JAVA Install the application, then go to the Add/Remove Programs options in the Control Panel and Remove ALL previous versions of JAVA.

    ============
    Fix these with HiJackThis – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NI.UWAS7_0001_N91M2703] "C:\DOCUME~1\Christin\LOCALS~1\Temp\WinAntiVirusPro2007FreeInstall.exe" -nag

    START – RUN – type in %temp% - OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete

    Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp

    Not all temp files will delete and that is normal
    Empty the recycle bin
    Boot and post a new hijack log from normal NOT safe mode

    Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system

    Computer seems to be running well now.

    Here's the log:

    I did get an error while trying to delete the temp files. it was a Error Deleting File or Folder, cannot delete Perfilb_Perfdata_a58. It is being used by ......

    Also, there is a Large Bold, capital letter "M" at the beginning of my address bar. I don't remember if this is the way it was before or not. I don't think so though.

    Thanks for the help.

    The "M" has taken the place of the "G" that normally appears for Google. I've discovered that the "M" is only there for the Google page and not on any others. I've checked on my other computer and on that one the "G" still appears so I'm assuming something is still lurking.

    Question about the SuperAntiSpy program, I'm assuming that it catches more than SpyBot and AdAware combined, it just takes longer to run? How often would you suggest running the SAS program?

    BTW, I've run SpyBot just now and it always picks a Windows Security Disabled for deletion. Should I be deleting that. I have been and I'm not sure if I should be. Maybe Spybot is picking this in error. If not, why do i have this error continuously?

    Also, I have a version of TracksEraserPro on my computer at work that one of the tech support guys got me. Do you have access to anything like that for my wife's work computer that is having all these troubles?

    Thanks again for the help, Jerry

    Hello,

    By Ignore, you mean don't delete it when it comes up checked as a problem?

    You know, after I reset the system the "M" went away.

    Psyched!
