Hi guys, i'm new to the forum so please go easy on me :) I need your help!!

In my Temp folder the ContentIE6 folder is eating away at my hard drive space. Every 10 seconds its creating a .tmpr file. I havent got a clue what that is. In the last few days its created over 4gb worth of files. I've just had to manually delete them but they keep coming back.

I've got windows xp with all the latest updates...I ran Norton Anti-Virus and thats not showing anything wrong, i've done a search with Bazooka spywear scanner and Spybot search and destroy with no results... What am i doing wrong?!?

I know a bit about computers but i'm no expert.. Can anyone help me? All advice would be greatfully received.. Many thanks..

    Lydia

Do you have a current AV

    SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
    AdAware SE http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
    SpyBot S&D 1.3 http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their
    definition updates
and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything
    they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Do these and reboot before the next step.

Then get HiJack This http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html, put
it in a permanent folder (C:\HJT) , run it , DO NOT fix anything, post the
    log here.

Rescan once again now with hijack, insert a check next to each of the following items, close all other open windows then click "fix checked"

Then download hoster.zip from here http://www.spyware911.net/downloads/hoster.zip
Open and click "restore original hosts file" followed by clicking "Make hosts file read only"

    Then
Get The latest version of Adaware
You can download the free version here:
    http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

    or here (alternate download location)
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html

You need to be logged on as Adminstrator through the installation.
For ease in installation and operation, view the tutorial here http://www.spyware911.net/adaware.htm

Just download it to your desktop and then to install click on the file you just downloaded (aawsepersonal.exe). You will be guided through the installation. It is recommended to use the default setting of "Protect anyone who uses this computer".

On the main screen of Adaware please look for the *check for updates now* link, just above the start button in the bottom right corner or you can click on the Webupdate button that looks like a globe icon at the top. Press * connect* to let it check for any recent updates. If any are found, please let it download and install them.

Now, configure your settings. Click the gear icon at the top. These are the recommended settings:

    AAW SE settings

    General Button
    Safety:
    Check (Green) all three.

    Advanced Button
    Logfile Detail Level:
All options under this should be checked (Green).

    Tweak Button
    Check (Green) the following:
    Log Files
Include basic Ad-Aware settings in logfile:
Include additional Ad-Aware settings in logfile:
Please do not check (Green): Include Module list in logfile:

On your first scan, use the Full Scan (Perform full system scan) mode.

Let Adaware remove any *bad* objects found. Reboot your PC and scan again. Repeat this process until no more bad items are found. It may take several scans to clean everything, depending on the type of infections found.

Reboot, rescan with hijack then post a fresh hijack log please.

I've removed the last 2 now. I'm running DynDNS.exe to keep an address for an ftp server because my ip keeps changing. I turned it off and its still making the temp files. They're located here:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Lydia\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE6

Every 10 seconds something creates a .tmpr file. in the folder above. The last one created was called.. ~T25141945.tmpr ... and 10 seconds later i get another file called.. ~T25141955.tmpr The title of the file is made up of the date and time in minutes and seconds but i dont know where they're coming from. The only way to get rid of them is to manually delete them.. but by the time i've deleted a load of them they've already started forming again.

    What can i do?
