I have Microsoft Office 2011 installed on my MacBook Pro. My word opens fine, however I use a program for debate that requires macro function to work. However whenever I open Word from my custom Template, a window pops up and says:

"Can't load Visual Basic for Applications

Make sure Visual Basic for Applications is installed on your computer. if Visual Basic for Applications is installed, make sure the path to the installation folder does not contain any characters outside of the system code page (such as Cyrillic characters on an English system) and contains fewer than 255 characters."

I have done steps to completely uninstall Office and re-download it, and it always says I don't have VBA. I have done a custom install just for the VBA and it still doesn't work.

How do I get the VBA to function on my Mac to run my Macros

It could be a version problem.
I believe MS Office 2011 for Mac only uses VBA version 6.5. (the same as PC Office 2007)
Many things aren't implemented especially event driven things.

You can always try using the PC version (if available) under a virtual machine or WINE, both which work well.
(virtual machine: Parallels, VMware Fusion, Virtual Box)
    (WINE: wine, wineskin, Crossover)
