I've been wanting to mess around with Linux, like change programs and change the specifics to the Linux operating system itself as well. How do I get a copy of Linux that I can download onto my computer and just play around?

You can download one of most popular Linux distros here.

As Etech say, that's a good one to get started with, don't forget to backup all your important docs, pics etc to external media beforehand ... just in case !
