I have read every forum here regarding my issue, which is internet connection issue. Although I am completely sure that anyone with even the most basic knowledge was able to understand. I on the other hand do not understand the difference between hardware and software or any other technical issue. I need help using the most basic of language.

Here is what I do know:
    Windows 7 Professional
    Model Lat 5530
    Dell
Processor- Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-3210M CPU @2.50 GHz
    Memory 4.00GB
    System Type 64-bit Operating System

    New modem from Brighhouse
New Router from Radio Shack - Belkin (but have used two others to ensure not the router)
    22 Tech calls to Brighhouse
    15 Visits by technicians
There is no wires from the modem or the router to any device, I had McAfee at one time but it is since expired (I think), This computer at one time was "Networked" with my job but is no longer

Note 3 Phone is using data, not wifi
Computer is never online. -There was a forum where you walked a girl through all the steps, first step being to do the McAfee Removal tool. I could not get past there. But her description of events was almost exactly my issues.

Please help- Divorce is looming over fights regarding internet!

To begin with, I've removed your email address. You should never post it in a public forum as it will be harvested by spammers and also, all assistance is to be done here on the boards in your thread.

I've also moved this from Random Discussion, which is not for requesting technical assistance, over to the Networking forum which is where matters regarding Internet connectivity should be posted.

You have run the McAfee Removal Tool, right?

Unplug the modem and shut down the PC. (We'll get to the router later.)

Connect the PC to the modem with an ethernet cable.

Plug in the modem. Wait about 20 seconds and then boot the PC.

If you don't now have internet access tell us what the modem's LEDs are saying and ...

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

    [Press ENTER after each command.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.
