    my computer turns on, but the sceen doesn't turn on and the light on the monitor flashes on and off........i can hear and see the fans are on.......before this happened the mouse and keyboard went first but still started up. i need help i've had this happen to a couple of computers.

    Sounds like you have a dead power supply...
    but we need to know more about system hardware or brand and model # if branded pc.

    it is an emachine w/ AMD athlon 2200+ and just it's basic hardware...

    model # - EMACHINES W2247

    i know it isn't the power supply cuz i just put a working power supply in and it did the same thing

    Well with an eMachine, when psu blows it usually take the motherboard with it.

    i thought it fired the motherboard.....do you think that it fired the processor with it too?

    That is tougher to do, but not unheard of. I would bet the motherboard.
