    When I turn it on and it starts booting, a message saying: cmos/gong checksum bad. How could I resolve this? Thank you

    The link was right but you could just say check your cmos battery, open case and look for the quarter size battery on the mother board, may be a challenge on some of the older hp's, There are some that you have to slide the front forward to view board but instructions are good at HP website for most if needed, remove battery and touch the edge to your tongue touching the bottom and side where the crack is you will feel a difference if the battery is good if bad it will just be like licking a quarter, lol not recommended often, this is very low voltage and will not shock you, the batteries are now in most grocery stores in two packs for about $2-$3 after replaced set time and date and you should be ready to restart without message. maybe just check the link was a better idea, lol
