Hey guys, finally got some spare cash. I made a topic here a while back discussing getting a new graphics card.

Well I've decided to finally get it, the power pack and possibly upgrade my RAM. I was wondering if you folks could tell me what (gaming focussed) and possibly a sound card. Any suggestions? (besides "Get a new computer" :p).

    My DXDiag info is attached.

Whats your budget? What games do you play and what monitor do you have?

I don't think I'd invest in a sound card if I were you, the onboard sound is good enough these days, not unless you need something specific from it.

Games can be anything. From the Total War series to MMORPGs, I do believe my brother also plays FPS games such as counter strike.

Budget is flexible, no more than £400 though.

Didn't think the monitor mattered tbh but it's a 19" Dell TFT, a standard old thing (well, 2 or 3 years old).

The monitor matters for the top resolution. A 19" monitor doesn't support the same high resolutions that a 24" does, so you can get away with a lesser card. Different games have different requirements, one game can play perfectly on a $30 card while another needs a $500 card.
