Can somebody please have a look at my hijackthis logfile. Have just had to restore my system from the recovery disk due to a hard drive crash and have installed all Windows patches including SP2. All Anti-Virus programs are current and up to date.

Sony VIAO Desktop, Win XP Home SP2, IE6 SP1, 2.4G HD, 512 mb, everything up-to-date.

Ran Norton Anti-Virus....negative results. Same for Spy-Sweeper, Ad-Aware, SpyBot S&D, CWShredder and Hi-Jackthis.

Now every time I re-boot I get a dialogue box message (from Norton AV) which states, quote:

Melicious Script Detected - High Risk
Your computer is halted and needs to do something about this script:

Object: Windows Script Host Shell Objject
    Activity: Run
    File: C:\program files\support.com\client\server\server.vbs

defaults to: Stop this script (recommended) press O.K.

    unquote

The above file was on the recovery disk, but from what I have been reading it is malicious.

Would appreciate anyone with more knowledge than I having a look at my logfile and advise.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello DireStraits! :D

Run HijackThis and fix the following entry:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ZTgServerSwitch] c:\program files\support.com\client\lserver\server.vbs

    Restart your computer.

Does the message still appear when you start the computer?

Post a fresh HijackThis log back on this thread.

    Crushbone,

Thank you very much for the quick reply. I did as instructed, and on re-boot there is no message.

Here is the logfile after re-boot. I hope everything else looks good.

Again, I appreciate your very fast response. Many thanks.
