Hello to all. I hope some of you will be able to help me. My computer will freeze up and not respond and if I try to shut it down to re-boot I get a window telling me my HIDDENFAX WINDOW is not responding. I have tried to find my Fax and I do not have any attached that I know of. I do have a Epson C84 printer plugged in and a Epson 3170 photo scanner that is currently not plugged in but the software is installed. Could either of these be giving me my problem ?
I use a dial-up connection and turn off the computer when I will not be using it for awhile but this is happening almost everytime I use it now. I sure could use some help.

See if you have fax services checked in add/remove.
    1. Choose Control Panel from the Start menu.
    2. Choose Add or Remove Programs.
    3. Click Add/Remove Windows Components to start the Windows Components Wizard.
    4. In the Components list, if there's a checkmark in the fax services box, uncheck it. Reboot.

Well, I spoke too soon the hidden fax window is still there and showing up when the computer shutd down. I went into my controll panel again and the box is not checked. Could it be the utility I use to view the pictures from my camera ?

Yes it could be. Go into Control Panel, Printers and if there is a fax icon in there and you do not recognize or use it, right click and delete it...
