The other day I ran msconfig and looked at all the items that were being loaded at startup. One of those being loaded was hidserv.exe. Can anyone tell me what that program is? Does it need to be loaded at startup? Just curious.

It stands for Human Interface Device Service. Deals with keyboards, mice, etc. connected through the USB bus.

If I'm correct, if such a device is detected by Windows, Hidserv.exe is automatically loaded.
