High CPU, how do i lower?

    i have an old PC
    Intel D Compaq
    1g DDR RAM
    25gb hard drive space left
    latest compatible drivers.
    Can sum1 help me in as how come when i open Internet Explorer or ne internet browser, it goes as high as to 85 to 99, same with like online MMORPG's like Tales of Pirates and Fiesta, can sum1 help me how i lower it? Itunes and all that stuff works fine.
    Another thing i noticed is that i look at the explorer.exe in Tsk Mgr, when i like open start or whatever, it jumps to like 20 then a sec l8er to like 5 , PLZ HELP ME =)

    I'd check the CPU fan and heatsink. It could be dirty and in need of a cleaning or maybe the bracket that holds down the heatsink has come loose or broken, make sure its not loose by trying to wiggle it and examining it closely. Also check the other fans in the case to make sure they all still work.

    Are you talking about cpu usage (85-99%), like when you look at taskmanager or temperature?
