Just wanted to say your not alone I have been recieving this error (Ad-Aware has caused an error in <unknown>. Ad-Aware with now close. I click Close and then I get Exception EReadError in Modul AD-AWARE.EXE bei 00021F3B. Then some German stuff.) Is this the same you are getting? I have not found a solution either.

Got it!!

This is what I did to get Ad-Aware to work:

http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?showtopic=43330

1st of all, hello all... I am new to this forum, but am a webmaster, network tech and fellow spam killer.

I love ad-aware and noticed some have had issues with 98 or ME after installing the program. Once you open it, it errors out.

What you will need... Winzip... (Unless a mod just posts the file here)

Cutting to the chase, here's the fix:

Go here: http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-files.shtml?riched32

Download that file.

You must extract it using winzip or other archive utility you have.

Extract it to c:\windows\system

THAT's IT! Though it would be tougher than that huh?

If you have already installed Ad-aware, now go ahead and open it, should work just fine. If not, now go ahead and install it and work away.

The reason being is that some 98 and millenium users did not conduct their own full installation and some system files are not installed. This is the one file required for Ad-aware to open and function on the earlier machines.

Glad to be aboard and hope this helps all!
