I believe I finally got the NIS off of my computer so that I may do a reinstall, but can anyone tell me for sure by looking at my log?

Is it best to delete the files in Safe Mode or does it matter?
Looks like I can delete these files:
C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\navapsvc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\nvsvc32.exe

Do you want to get rid of Norton products TOTALLY or just the firewall? Your second post lists your Antivirus software also.

Totally, because I'm going to reinstall it. It did not install properly the first time and it gave me some major problems.

Best bet would be to go to Symantec's site and use their removal tool. I don't have the link handy, but if I find it I'll edit and include it in this post.

Thanks, VirtualMe and NiteHawk. I used the Symantec site to remove it and the HiJack Log that you see, at the start of this post is what was left behind. That's why I asked is there anything that might be left behind (that I need to delete) before I reinstall Norton.

There are still a few traces of Norton behind. Here is what I would suggest.

In Hijack This, check ALL of the following items. Double check so as to be sure not to miss a single one.
Next, close all browser Windows, and have HT fix all checked.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAV Agent] C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NAVAPW32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ccApp] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ccRegVfy] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccRegVfy.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NAV CfgWiz] C:\PROGRA~1\NORTON~2\Cfgwiz.exe /R

Next reboot into Safe Mode and remove the following files and folders that are bolded

Delete these folders.

C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\NAVAPW32.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"

See here http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406 for how to start in safe mode if you don't know how.

Reboot into normal mode

How are you with using Regedit?

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe"

Looks good. I would recommend booting into Safe Mode and doing a defrag. Once done, Install your Norton again. Installing from Safe Mode usually causes fewer problems.
