Hijack This Log & Spybot Problem

Hi,

My homepage keeps getting changed to some page called "luckysearch.net". I know I have some crud on my computer and have run Hijack This and had it fix what I recognized as crud. When I run SpyBot - Search and Destroy it always hangs up before completion. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again but no change. Spybot always freezes at a point where it says it is checking something called "C2.lop". Is there another similar program I can download in place of Spybot, and more importantly, does this freezing at "C2.lop" have any significance?

Thanks for any help - here is my Hijack This log.

Hi Beano , Start with the following ,
Download CWShredder , www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip
Unzip CWShredder to your Desktop , Close all browser windows , check the Taskbar for minimized windows as well , To run CWShredder hit the ''Next'' button , Reboot your computer when you're finished

Next , Open Spybot search & destroy in Advanced Mode , Click Online , Search for updates , Download all available updates , Click Excludes and put a check in the C2.lop entries , Close all browser windows , check your taskbar for minimized windows as well , Run Spybot search & destroy , put a check in every entry Spybot search & destroy returns , Click fix problems , and another reboot. The following link explains the reason for the C2.lop hang-up.
http://spybot.eon.net.au/index.php?lang=en&page=knowledgebase/faq/faq022

Then Update Hijack This to version 1.97 Config... , Misc Tools , Update Online.
Rescan Hiack This 1.97 , Return to this thread and show us a new follow-up log.

Thanks for your help, BlueSpruce. I have run cwshredder, but the version of Spybot I have apparently doesn't allow me to exclude anything? The left side toolbar has these 5 options:

Search and Destroy, Recovery, Immunize,Update, and Donations

Utilizing the help index leads me to believe that something is missing in the version I downloaded. Am I an idiot or what?! I can't find an exclude option to check off files. etc. that I want to exclude.

Beano

Go to Start > All programs > Spybot Search and Destroy > Spybot - S&D (Advanced Mode). Open Spybot in Advanced Mode and you will find the Excludes option. It is not available in (Easy Mode)

Please do this. Go here http://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/ and download Hijack This. Un Zip it and click on the Hijackthis.exe.

Click the "Scan" button when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.

Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.

Do NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless. Someone here will be glad to advise you on what to fix.

The log may reveal the source of the problem.
