well there seems to be 5 website icons on my desktop & the same in m y favorties.....and also my main page changes.....when i delete them and restart it all comes back again....i used hijackthis & same result

Download and run CWshredder from http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/
And remember to click "Fix" (Not "Scan only")
In particular pay attention to the patches for the operating system regarding the ByteVerify vulnerability.

Ill carry on with your log while you off doing the above.

ok i ran hijackthis..ad-aware...cwrshredder..spybotsearch&destroy...and everything goes away...but then i restart the comp...everything is back!

CWShredder should have hosed all those with no problem.........did you hit "fix" and not "scan"
Run hijackthis again and put a checkmark against these entries....double check
in case you miss anything....
.....then,close all browser and outlook windows and "fix checked"

i just also noticed that i cannot just doubel click a txt file and open it... i have to go to start menue and open a new notepad then file open in that and the open the file that way.

the error i get is "Windows cannot fine "C:wherever my file is". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. to earch for a file, click the start button and then click search"

ok i did somthing else and it worked fine... i used a system restore for a day earlier and everything seems fine right now. thanks for the help!
