    Folks,

I have had internet problems I believe were/are caused by "SAHAgent" and by “PAD Lookups by 180 Search Assistant" and " Interstitial Ad Delivery by 180 Search Assistant". I'm sorry if this request should be in a thread but I am a newby to this kind of forum/discussion approach. I found your site through a search engine while trying to solve my problem. Let me know if I need to change how I am doing this.

Based on what I read, I downloaded and ran Hijackthis, the results of which are below. Prior to running Hijack this, I did manage to delete, via Windows Explorer, a file called SAHAgent.html which was in fact an exe application file. Otherwise I have been unable to delete or do Add/Remove on the above noted programs. I would appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thanks

    Welcome to TSG:)
You have a CoolWebSearch hijack....amongst other things...
Go to http://computercops.biz/downloads-cat-14.html , and download the latest version of CWShredder by Merijn Bellekom, the creator of Hijack This.
Run it, press 'Fix', and allow it to fix all it finds.
And remember to click "Fix" (Not "Scan only")
After its done its thing hit the"How do i prevent reinfection" tab....
In particular pay attention to the patches for the operating system regarding the ByteVerify vulnerability which is how you got infected in the 1st place.

When it is finished restart your computer.

Run hijackthis again and put a checkmark against these entries....double check
    in case you miss anything....
.....then,close all browser and outlook windows including this one and "fix checked"

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://helpdesk.its.bethel.edu/resnet/Documents/Antivirus/Safemode.html
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Locate and delete:
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SahAgent.exe
    c:\windows\system\msbb.exe
    C:\windows\TEMP\bundle.exe
    C:\Program Files\Common files\updater [FOLDER]
    c:\windows\SYSTEM\bpcpost.exe
    c:\windows\SYSTEM\wucrtupd.exe
    C:\PROGRAM FILES\INCREDIFIND [FOLDER]

    Post another log after.

    ;)

    $teve and dr cool j,

Thanks for the advice. I have gone through all the steps (printed Steve's response) and manually checked off each step. Only problem was trying to get hold of MS's ByteVerifier, so I deleted MS Java VM and replaced it with Sun Java.

So far, it all seems to be working OK. I'll let you know if anything falls :) off the rails.

    Thanks

    Bosque
