Hello, Tech Guy...

I, too have been hijacked. My home page has been reset to http://here4search.com/hp.htm?id=9, and 5 sexually explicit links are added to my "favorites" file every time I reboot. My HJT log is below. Can you help me discern what I should fix & what I should leave alone?

Thanks,
p

Hi conl0006, welcome to TSG.

Okay, may not be CWS, but lets make sure so first, go here and download CWShredder:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html

After downloading open the application and click Fix (not scan) and let it do its' thing.

Second, go here and download AdAware:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=506

After installing, download current updates then scan your system. Everything AdAware finds is safe to fix.

Reboot.

Then, open up HJT and close your browser. Check the following entries in HJT if still present, click fix and reboot.

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.windowws.cc/sp.htm?id=9

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.windowws.cc/sp.htm?id=9

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.windowws.cc/sp.htm?id=9

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.windowws.cc/hp.htm?id=9

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.windowws.cc/sp.htm?id=9

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [vma826df7e] C:\WINDOWS\JIK2MI6UG9.EXE

After rebooting, find and delete this file (may have to do in safe mode):

C:\WINDOWS\JIK2MI6UG9.EXE

:)
