About 18 hrs ago,I password protected, both my & my partners a/c on XP pro,all that was running was a file share programme. The password thing was created to stop my 11yr gamer son use the computer for a few hours. Both A/C's were passworded with the same password,as it was only a temp measure.
Approx 3 hrs late,I checked the computer, was only able to log into each a/c ONCE,then the ERROR message...wrong password ete..Rebooted,both A/c's had dissappeared,Only the ADMINISTRATORS a/c visable on the log-in page.
I punched in the password,& did a system restore,The 2 missing a/c's re-appeared,computer is very slow, Avast uncovered a Key-logged,& Trojen about 6 hours proir to password protecting the PC.
My son has been on RUNESCAPE.com playing these games he likes for 2 days,he's over every other week-end..

    Hi silversurfer54,
I think you need to post a HJT (HijackThis) log and let a qualified member (gold shield next to their name) take you through what needs to be done. I suggest you print off this guide, just in case ....
Please go no further than the stages listed here for now.

Using Hijackthis with the self-installer that puts it into Program Files for you:

go to Click here to download HJTsetup.exe

    • Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
    • Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
    • Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Additional Tasks dialogue.
    • Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
    • Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
    • At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then save the log and then the log will open in Notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Once you've posted that log here you'll need to wait for a qualified member to take you through the next stages.

    Richard.
