I'm sorry if I'm not allowed to do this, as I read the post earlier, but I was a bit confused whether or not it was accepted. Anyways, I also have another problem with slow-downs. Every time I open My documents from the start menu, it takes a lot longer than usual to open, and if I go to my documents from the desktop, it goes there in an instant. This also goes with the control panal and etc. It's all happened very recently along with a surge of spyware I got recently. I already d/led spybot and ad-aware, but the slowdowns continue.

There is also another problem dealing with my internet provider. For any of you AOL users or possibly knowledgabe people, I'm having troubles recently at the same time of my slowdowns of whenever I open links on a website to another that opens a new window, it doesn't load up an AOL freezes, but if I do that with IE, it doesn't. I'm planning on reinstalling again, but i'm not sure if I need to.

Here's the hijackthis log, and hopefully someone can help me.

    Welcome to TSG!

It looks like you have the Peper.A trojan

The first thing I will recommend is to get the trial version of TD-3.

    Download TDS-3 from http://www.wilders.org/anti_trojans.htm

Update it following the instructions here:
    http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=update
    Run a full system scan.

You will have to do the manual update as this is a trial version and you can only do the aytomatic update with the registered version which costs $49.

After you have done the manual update open TDS-3 and click on "System Testing" then click on "Full Systyem Scan" and the scan will begin. Disable your Antivirus program before running the scan.

Restart your computer when it is finished.

Go here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ and download Adaware 6

Install the program and launch it.

I strongly recommend that you read the help file to familiarize yourself with the program.

Before running the scan look at the top of the main window and you will see a Gear Icon. This is where you configure the settings. Click on that and then in the next window that pops up click on the "Scanning" tab on the left side. Under "Drives and Folders" put a check by "Scan within archives" and below that under "Memory and Registry" put a check by all the options there.
The click on the "Tweak" tab and under "Scanning engine" put a check by "Unload recognized processes during scanning" ...........then......under "Cleaning engine" put a ckeck by "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot" then click "Proceed"

Next in the main window look in the bottom right corner and click on "Check for updates now" and get the latest referencefiles.
After getting the latest referencefiles you are ready to scan.

Click "Start" and in the next window make sure "Active in depth scanning" is checked then click "Next" and the scan will begin.

When it is finished let it fix everything it finds.

    Restart your computer.

Then go here http://spybot.eon.net.au/index.php?...n&page=download and download Spybot.

Install the program and launch it.

Before scanning press "Online" and "Search for Updates" .

Put a check mark at and install all updates.

Click "Check for Problems" and when the scan is finished let Spybot fix/remove all it finds.

    Restart your computer.

Come back here and post another HT log and we'll get rid of what's left.

Ok! Thanks. I'll do it, but in the meantime, can you tell me what that virus is?

    Description:

This Trojan requests certain downloads from a specific site that is more likely controlled by its author. The downloads, which can change any time, are currently updated copies of this Trojan program.

It also attempts to download and open pop-up ads from the Internet, which may take up system resources and slowdown the system.

This memory-resident malware runs on Windows 95, 98, NT, ME, 2000 and XP.

    Above taken from here:

Okay, strangely, i'm downloading something called eZula and its showing up on my taskbar. I can't seem to do anything about it, but its slowing down my download to get rid of it.. how ironic.

I suggest you get on the scan with TD-3 quickly. Right now as far as we know TDS-3 and NOD32 are the only programs that will get rid of it. Then complete the other steps and post another log.

I would be interested in knowing if TDS-3 got rid of these:

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Qep78k1j.exe C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QST39P.EXE C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\YNSUJC3.EXE

Or did you have to manually delete them?

Well to be honest, I'm not sure. There are a few ones that I didn't end up deleting since they were already taken cared of from the TDS-3. I'm not sure if I made a log of whats been taken care of, but if you know of any that are automatically made, tell me and I'll surely tell you. BTW, do you want me to take care of the last two in safe mode? I'm not sure where else to do it without anything running otherwise.
