There are no "security" issues in the scanlog.

Actually I think I was too hasty in delcaring you "security" free...

I would be concerned about this item:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [EmailMesh] C:\Documents and Settings\Mathew\Desktop\cd7\client.exe

    Are you familiar with it?

By "runs slow at startup", do you mean the boot time is very slow, or that once you reach the desktop it performs slowly for a period of time?

Either way you might want to do some "clean boot" troubleshooting to see if you can isolate the problem to one of the startups.

hi, yeah i know about that prog. it is infact no longer on my pc. it was on a cd i had (hencd cd7 folder) and i was looking through the folder and accidently opened it. should i use hijackthis to remove it as i know its not used and not needed?

i havnt done any looking yet as i was not sure what it was that caused it. its after windows has loaded and the taskbar is there that it gets real slow for a little bit. after that it runs fine again.

Yes just check and fix it with HijackThis. It's possible that the slow down is xp looking for the missing file. Unlike earlier versions, error messages are not always generated when startups are missing.
