    There actually isn't too much running. Norton is turned off at Startup?

    How much RAM do you have?

    I am not sure why Norton would be turned off at startup.
    RAM 512 MB

    Pretty much every item in Startup can be turned off. I'm just surprised Norton isn't listed there.

    Have you ever used msconfig before?

    I would go back in there and see if Norton got mistakenly unchecked.
