I have a suspicius feeling that I have got some things running in teh background than neither Ad-Aware nor Ewido nor AVG nor Spybot has picked up. I wouldn't expect spybot to find anything really serious but I still like it very much. Below is a HJT log. I also took a look at my running process and googled some of the things that I wasnt' familiar with. most of them were integral system process that should show up but the odd one seemed a little suspicious. when I googled a couple of them the results came up in forums under categories such as the one I'm posting in right now (ie. security, trojans, malware etc.) I did not take the same course of action as was reccommended in those other posts on other forums but kept them in mind. I thought I'd post a log here first because I have had good experience with everybody on here before. Please take a look at the log and if there is anything you think is amiss or could be suspect please let me know. I certainly wouldn't want my banking information to be taken or other personal stuff like that. Thank you in advance, you're amazing. That's why they pay you the big bucks right ;)

    This looks suspicious: O23 - Service: autoupdt - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\autoupdt.exe

Please go to this site: http://virusscan.jotti.org/

Use the Browse button at Jotti.
Navigate to the file's location on your hard drive and submit this file: C:\WINDOWS\autoupdt.exe

Let me know what it says regarding the file.

Cheeseball the response you made was so fast I thought it was impossible. I had just closed the window after posting the first time and no more than 10 seconds passed before my messenger notified me I had an email from you. simply amazing. cudos to you. This isn't the first time you've been the first to reply to one of my questions either. thank you.
As for the results it seemed to show up with nothing suspicious but I agree with you that it does seem like it doesn't belong. I googled it and it seemed to not be welcoem in most computers. do you have any other advice?

Below is a scan from the site you reccommended I go to. ctrl-alt-v'd that is.

No problem :) It looks suspicious, but apparently it belong to some kind of development tool. Did you ever install something called Relaxation Reminder?

What other processes were you questioning?
