Before proceeding with instructions, Hijack This needs to be in a permanent folder on you hard drive.

    Redownload it here: http://thespykiller.co.uk/files/hijackthis_sfx.exe

Let it extract to C:\Program Files.
Rerun it from there and post a new log.

    No problem (y)

I highly suspect you have a VX2 infection.
So let's do as much cleaning as we can.
If one particular entry keeps returning, then I will flag down a Moderator to jump in.

With IE closed, run Hijack This again.
Put a checkmark on these entries and hit "fix checked":

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://searchmiracle.com/sp.php

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://searchmiracle.com/sp.php

Boot into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key at Startup, before the Windows logo screen)

Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default,
Go to Start > Search and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"

    Next click on My Computer.
Go to Tools > Folder Options.
Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked.
Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extensions for known file types."
Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Find and delete these files:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\n20050308.EXE
    c:\windows\system32\eliteynv32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\fp4003hme.dll

    Find and delete these folders:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\vidctrl
    C:\Program Files\sder

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder.
Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box.
The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options.
On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files".
Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK.
Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button.
    Click Apply then OK.

    Empty the Recycle Bin.

    Reboot, post a new log.

    Go here: http://subratam.org/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=41

    Download #17. KillBox

    Save it to your desktop.

    Run KillBox.exe.

Select the Delete on Reboot option.
In the Full Path of File to Delete field paste this path and click the red circle with the white X in it, when it asks you if you want to delete the file on reboot click Yes, when it asks you to reboot, click No.

    c:\windows\system32\eliteynv32.exe

    Close Killbox

Run Hijack This again and put a check in the following:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [checkrun] c:\windows\system32\eliteynv32.exe

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

    Reboot, post a new log.

As I suspected, the 020 entry returned with a new file name.
    You have a VX2 infection.
I will ask the Mods to have a look at the next log you post.

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

    http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
    http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

OK that seems to have killed off the L2M/VX2 that was downlaoding all the others so let's have a go at them

I would try this way as it should get riid of most of them if not all

    * Download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here

    http://www.ewido.net/en/

    * Install ewido.
    * During the installation, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
    * Launch ewido
    * It will prompt you to update click the OK button and it will go to the main screen
    * On the left side of the main screen click update
    * Click on Start and let it update.
    * DO NOT run a scan yet. You will do that later in safe mode.

    * Click here for info on how to boot to safe mode if you don't already know
    how.
How to boot to safe mode

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406

    * Now copy these instructions to notepad and save them to your desktop. You
will need them to refer to in safe mode.

    * Restart your computer into safe mode now. Perform the following steps in
    safe mode:

    * Now run Ewido:

    * Click on scanner
    * Put a check by the following before you scan:
    o Binder
    o Crypter
    o Archives
    * Click the Start Scan button to start the scan.
    * During the scan it will prompt you to clean files, click OK
    * When the scan is finished, look at the bottom of the screen and click the Save report button.
    * Save the report to your desktop

Post back with a fresh HJT log and the ewido scan log

I'm quite suprised ewido didn't fix those as it does usually and it doesn't normally close out like that

OK let's try a different way

we need to find the hiodden files first so
Download FindQoologic-Narrator.zip save it to your Desktop.
    http://forums.net-integration.net/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=134981

Extract (unzip) the files inside into their own folder called FindQoologic.
    Open the FindQoologic folder.
Locate and double-click the Find-Qoologic.bat file to run it.
wait until a text opens, post it in a reply to your thread.
it will take between 10 & 15 minutes to run through normally so don't panic and don't close the file until the file.txt pops up

the first one to open will be list.txt please ignore that one & wait for file.txt

If you get a message when you first run it "Can not find script file C:\DOCUME~1\USER NAME \LOCALS~1\Temp\Activesetup.vbs" that happens sometimes when it creates the temp files it needs to run properly. Just close the application & then double click the bat file again and it will run properly

If your antivirus warns that a script is asking to run then let it, it is perfectly safe.
