I am having various issues w/ my PC, but I figured it would be best to resolve the spyware/adware stuff first. Any help w/ my HJT log would be very much appreciated.

C:\PROGRAM FILES\WEB OFFER\WO.EXE is the only one that looks suspect to me. But, I didn't research it, plug it into google and check it out to be sure. Other than that I didn't see anything else that looks specifically like spy/adware.

Update HijackThis to version 1.98.2, then post a new log.

You've got way too many programs loading during startup and running in the background. Besides the fact that this causes a performance loss and causes longer startup times, it can cause other problems. Click the link below and read the article, "MSCONFIG - Reduce The Startup Load".

Post a HijackThis log first before you uncheck and disable any startup programs.

Have you made use of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.3 and Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.04 for getting rid of spyware, malware, etc.?

Got to Add/Remove programs and uninstall Web Offer if it is there.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close ALL windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Restart to safe mode.

How to start your computer in safe mode

First in safe mode click on My Computer then go to View > Folder Options. Click on the "View" tab and make sure "Show all files" is ticked and uncheck "Hide file extensions for known file types". Click "Like Current Folder" then click "Apply" then "OK"

Now find and delete these folders:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\pcs
C:\PROGRAM FILES\Web Offer

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Remove unnecessary startups

This should be done through the System Configuration Utility. Go to Start > Run and type in msconfig.
Click OK or hit the Enter key.

Click on the "Startup" tab and remove the check by the items that you have determined are unnecessary. Click "Apply" then "OK"

You will be prompted to restart. Go ahead and restart.

Keep in mind that some entries will be re-enabled in the startups each time you use that particular program. Therefore, you will have to find the option in that programs preferences that says something like "Load with Windows" or "Run when Windows Starts" and disable that option.

I recommend that you disable these:

Adaptec DirectCD C:\PROGRA~1\ADAPTEC\DIRECTCD\DIRECTCD.EXE

TkBellExe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe

To keep this one from putting itself back in the startup go to the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB folder and rename the realsched.exe file to realsched.bak

HP JetDiscovery HPJETDSC.EXE

IPInSightLAN 01 "C:\PROGRAM FILES\VERIZON ONLINE\VISUALIPINSIGHT\IPClient.exe

IPInSightMonitor 01 "C:\PROGRAM FILES\VERIZON ONLINE\VISUALIPINSIGHT\IPMon32.exe

Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\OSA9.EXE

TrueSync Launcher.lnk = C:\Program Files\Starfish\TrueSync\tstool.exe

Go here for info on msconfig:

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_index.htm

You can look up the startups here to help determine what is needed and what is not:
