**Before I posted this I ran...AntiVir, Spybot and Spysubtract. AntiVir went nuts with warnings. Can someone tell me what a good little bundle of things to have installed on my computer to protect against things like this?? If I should lose some of the things I have and download others I will. Thanx. :)

    SpywareBlaster http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
    AdAware SE 1.05 http://www.majorgeeks.com/download506.html
    SpyBot S&D 1.3 http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/

DL them (they are free), install them, check each for their
    definition updates
and then run AdAware and Spybot, fixing anything
    they say.

In SpywareBlaster - Always enable all protection after updates
SpyBot - After an update run immunize

Looks like your AVG is the old version, AVG 7 - http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/

    Fix these with HJT

New logfile. As directed. :) There were some things on here that I was wondering about. It looks like the R1's that you wanted me to fix are still there. There are also 2 others....016 (Heartbeat Ctl Class) what is that?? and 016 (Housecall Control). I don't have housecall on my computer. Someone here just told me to do a check using housecall..not to have it installed or anything. Should I just leave that one there or delete/fix it?
I installed AdAware as you suggested. Funny. I had it installed before (newer version) and whenever I went to run it, it would shut down the whole computer. Now, so far it doesn't. Weird. The other 2 you asked for I already had them installed a long time ago. ;) What I also have on here is SpySubtract and SpywareGuard. Should I leave those or just lose them? Oh, about the AVG I just installed it yesterday..before you suggested I do so...so I should have the newer version, because when I looked at the page you suggested I go to, to DL, it was the exact same page that I went to. Someone here suggested, a long time ago, that I install IESpyad (sp). Never did, tho. What do you think? Thanx for your help.

I think there is a problem with getting rid of the R1's. This is what it tells me when I press the "fix checked" button....."SPYWAREGUARD BROWSER PROTECTION ALERT
An Attempt to change Internet Explorer settings has been detected.
WARNING! Your IE search page has been changed!
Your Internet Explorer current user search page has been changed from http://mysearchnow.com/searchbar.html to <none>
What would you like to do?
Restore old value OR Keep new value

If I press restore old value this particular message pops up 4 times and all of the R1's are still in place. Should I be pressing Keep new value??

Geez, finally got thru. This blasted computer takes forever to let me get to a page that I want to go to. It takes so long to load that by the time it IS done loading I get the message "page cannot be displayed" OR my fave, it says "connecting to server" at the bottom left hand corner. WELL, when that comes up, I know I ain't goin' nowhere.

Have you thought of the different questions that I asked you earlier..ie: spyad, the housecall thing on HJT...etc...

    Thanx for the help :D

New log. No problem. You don't sound very gung ho about spyad. Just it's fine. Hmmmm I was kinda looking for a "yes it would be a good idea to install it" or "nah, don't bother" I'm not the best decision maker in the world :) :)

Yup, actually did that a couple of hours ago. Internet files. I know that when I go to tools and go in the temp. internet files I delete cookies and files. This is going to sound like thee most retarded question, but are IE files different than the other 2 I just said? I've had a totally frazzled day so it's quite possible I actually know this answer. rrrrr.

I think you and I are on the same page. I press Tools - internet options - in the general section, in Temporary Internet Files I press - delete cookies, then - delete files. Thanx for letting me drive you nuts. My computer still runs incredibly S L O W but that is a question, I think, I need to post in a different thread...seeing as I am now in the security thread. Thanx again. :D
