My laptop started rebooting on it's own few days ago but there was nothing of significance mentioned in EVENT VIEWER. Sometime between that issue, MS Updates requested I take a critical update called Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 4. Twice, it was unsuccessful. During one of the reboots, before the blue window shut down w/o mentioning any issues, I caught a little of what it said the 1st of twice that it did say anything..."The configuration of the Admin Connection/TCP protocol in the SQL instance MSSMLBIZ is not valid, etc". Meanwhile, I ran Trend Micro, SDFix (log file below), Malwarebytes & AdvanceSystemCare & I replaced my raggedy Ethernet cable cord w/ a new one. Nine hrs later I assumed my lap was fixed due to the new cable cord, but it rebooted again. This time the blue screen said something, "Kernal Stack Impage Error" and, "If problem continues disable or removed any newly installed hardware or software, etc" I hadnt installed anything except TrendMicro updates. A TrendMicro window came up saying my pc keeps shutting down & it could be from one of their updates (or hardware problems). It also said taking future updates from them may resolve issues, etc. I looked in TrendMicro logs and noticed on 1/24/2011, under the status of a 'Virus Pattern Scanning' update, TrendMicro had rolled back a download(update), just before 3,4 more updates. So I assumed "maybe" those updates fixed the problem ...but, AGAIN my lap rebooted yesterday. So I then ran 'combo-fix' (cant find the log) from my desktop, and it left file named "ComboFix Qoobox" (quarantined file below) in my C-driveThen I figure that critical update from MS must be important, so I download it from the site http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=b953e84f-9307-405e-bceb-47bd345baece and it left a mess in my C-drive =( Less then an hr later my TrendMicro window came up & said a NETWORK VIRUS was blocked! I hit the link & was taken here ==> MS02-039_SQL_SERVER_RESOLUTION_EXPLOIT http://about-threats.trendmicro.com...039_SQL_SERVER_RESOLUTION_EXPLOIT&language=us They made it sound drastic  & told us to go to forum techs for help after downloading 'patches' on the site ..but IDK what to do w/ patches & where to put them:confused: As I was typing this, the same window just popped up again, OMG! I ran HijackThis (log below) & and error window came up but it made a log (below)

NOTE: PC hasnt rebooted since TrendMicro's first notice of Network Virus attack last nite & it's been on all day

    oops! forgot to include:

    Windows XP Professional
    SP 3 (installed 6/28/08
Last reboot was 1/27/2011 3:41 am (it is now 6:50 pm)

UPDATE: Ran ComboFix & my pc shutdown during the run. Deleted ComboFix (considering I didnt get it from this site). No longer can run security protection software, TrendMicro and Malwarebytes without pc shutting down, and cannot work in safemode. In safemode pc freezes. I have ATF and RKill from this site awhile back & was able to run both tools. Immediately after I ran Malwarebytes & my pc shutdown & rebooted. Thank you

WoW! What happened? This site use to be poppin w/ helpful techs ....but anyway if anybody lands up here later, googling the same issues, tech support from TrendMicro uninstalled all other security software which they insist clashed w/ their software. I went out and bought a new desktop while waiting on their response so I havent a clue if that was truly the case ..yet! Good luck all!!;)
