Please print these instructions out for use in Safe Mode.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files
  • This will create a VundoFix folder on your desktop.
  • After the files are extracted, please reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter.
  • Once in safe mode open the VundoFix folder and doubleclick on KillVundo.bat
  • You will first be presented with a warning.
    It should look like this
    VundoFix V2.15 by Atri
By using VundoFix you agree that you are doing so at your own risk
    Press enter to continue....
  • At this point press enter one time.
  • Next you will see:
Please Type in the file path as instructed by the forum staff
    and then press enter:
  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):

    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyv.dll

  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • Next you will see:
Please type in the second file path as instructed by the forum
    staff then press enter:
  • At this point please type the following file path (make sure to enter it exactly as below!):

    • C:\WINDOWS\vybeg.*

  • Press Enter to continue with the fix.
  • The fix will run then HijackThis will open, if it does not open automatically please open it manually.
  • In HijackThis, please place a check next to the following items and click FIX CHECKED:

    • O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {52B1DFC7-AAFC-4362-B103-868B0683C697} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyv.dll

    • O20 - Winlogon Notify: gebyv - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyv.dll

  • After you have fixed these items, close HijackThis.
  • Press enter to exit the program then manually reboot your computer.
  • The fix will tell you to shutdown using the Power button. Hold in your power button until the computer shuts down. Wait about 15 seconds and then restart the computer into regular windows.

Chkdsk will run. This is normal. It will take a few minutes and is checking your file system because of the Bad Shutdown we caused.

  • Once your machine reboots please continue with the instructions below.
Download and install CleanUp!

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Now go through the entire process again but this time substitute the items in the corresponding colours as follows:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll

C:\WINDOWS\system32\gjllm.*

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {00DBDAC8-4691-4797-8E6A-7C6AB89BC441} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll (file missing)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: mlljg - mlljg.dll (file missing)

Now please run an online scan from this site:

http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

Be sure to save the log and post it back here in your next reply.

When you come to the point where the black screen appears and the text "safe mode" is displayed in the corners, open the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) and find "explorer.exe . Click on it in the list and click "Terminate". This will probably take several minutes.
Once Explorer is terminated, navigating with the mouse will be easy, however you will have a desktop without icons.

Now, remember where you installed the "VundoFix" . Open the Task Manager again, and click "File>Run" in the toolbar. Type in the filepath to the VundoFix in the scrollbar and hit enter.
The default location of the VundoFix is here :
C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Desktop\VundoFix\KillVundo.bat . Replace "your username" with your actual one.
Then click "ok" and if everything works as planned, you will now be able to run the VundoFix and go on with the procedure I already posted.

Since you during this operation can’t navigate via Explorer, it’s important that you print those instructions, both the ones here and the entire cleaning procedure for the Vundo.
