    OS is XP Home ed. with service pack 1. I've run ad-aware, spybot, avg, and downloaded latest HJT. This is the logfile from it - I've been getting an error at shutdown saying that Win Min cannot be shut down.....

    You may have a variant of W32/Gokar worm. This worm targets antivirus software and prevents it from running correctly. First you need to stop any un-needed processes from running. Download ProcRecon http://www.webchitect.com/ProcRecon/
    , run it, choose the "select all" option, click terminate. All programs should terminate, your taskbar may temporarily disappear so don't be alarmed..

    Next, remove these log entries useing HijackThis.
