I am running Win XP Pro and want to hoast my own web site. What do I need to do this and where can I get it, if it is possible?

There are a lot of ways to do this. The biggest concern for most people is their connection -- if you're on dial-up, you'll only be able to serve a handful (at MOST!) users at any given time. Also, only when you're dialed-up, obviously. If you're on cable, ISDN, or DSL, you'll be able to do it, but only if your ISP allows it. Check with them first.

As for the actual software to use, I like Apache, which is free and now has a Win32 version that should work with XP.
