I currently use ATT cable as my ISP. When starting the ATT start page or after its loaded, returning to the start page, it takes a long time to finish loading. Everything loads instantly except one file. Its call us-flag.gif. This one file takes three to five min. to load. Its not the end of the world but very distracting and aggreivating. I tried ATT help to see if i could diable thier file from loading. No help they only wanted me to upgrade to IE Explorer 5.5 I am currently running IE Explorer 5.1 SP2 and am very happy with it. Does anyone know how I can correct this little problem. Thank you John H.

Hiya

Sometimes, when loading up the homepage or any pages, there will be certain bits that take forever to load. If this is the only thing that takes a while, as I get that here sometimes, press Escape and it will stop the page loading.

However, you may want to change the homepage to anyting that you want. Dosen't have to be your ISP.

Go to Tools | Internet Options. General tab. Under HomePage, choose one of the options:

use Current: If you're on a page you want as your homepage, click that. eg google.
Use Default: That will be your ISP's homepage.
Use Blank: As it says, blank page. some use this as it gets them on the web quicker.

Apply and OK.

You may also want to do a repair if you're still having too many problems:

Control Panel | AddRemove. Doubleclick Microsoft Interent Explorer. Choose Repair, apply and restart.
